A little interior for the soul

Lately I have been inspired by interior designing - mostly because of the frequency of the HGTV channel on my television screen.

Here is a bedroom I created:
I wasn't really inspired by anything, but found some pieces that I thought would be perfect together.

Here are some other rooms that have caught my eye:

What I really like about this piece if the design on the wall - the lighting and color on the trees. I'm not too big of a fan of the green design on the furniture, but it goes along with the whole room successfully.

This room is pretty simple, but what I really like is the focus of color of the furniture. With the vibrant purple couch and the blue ceiling lamp, the white walls with the black table and bookshelves becomes part of a modern look.

Another modern look, this room works well with the bright blue table and the black and white curtains, which god along with the black and white of the pillows and seating. I also like how the wall behind the chairs has a window looking into another part of the place.

Though the style and layout is simple - especially the focus on white - I find the entrance to the dining room makes it the room look so inviting, and is the perfect area of dinner parties and entertaining guests!

Ruffles

I never used to like ruffles but lately I've found myself staring at some pieces a little longer than usual. Maybe it's just the brightness of the outfits itself, but it kind of makes me want to start wearing ruffles! Here are a few pieces I've liked:

This dress by Verrier (Spring 2009) gives off a playful and girly style and kind of reminds me of a ballgown made for Princess Aurora.

Another outfit by Verrier, this blue top gives an instant pop! of elegance when it's paired with the black, though I'm more fond of the skirt with it rather than the jacket/shawl.

I remember when I first saw this purple Lanvin dress on Isla Fisher in the recent film Confessions of a Shopaholic, my eyes widened and I grinned with delight. Not only is the color irresistible, but the ruffles and the black belt look good together!

Bringing Back Neon!

I remember when I was a sophomore in high school, I started looking for neon pink pieces to add to my closet. Before the comeback of leggings, I would spend hours looking for a pair until finally deciding to get a pair of cotton ones from the little girl section - they always ended up being too big of a size for me, so I never wore them. So now that I see how much neon is coming back, all I can say is that it seems to be two years too late for me. Still, I'll stock up on a few items here and there. Here are a few things I've found that have caught my eye:

I really like how they use bright colors with this sporty fashion spread from Teen Vogue, especially this mixture of two leggings - Christoph Broich for Cooperative Designs Leggings with cutouts and Foam blue leggings.

Featured in the spring fashion spread from Teen Vogue, this Alexander Wang jacket in pink is really cute, and when it's paired with the orange shorts, it looks very bold on the model, though I don't like the color orange much.

I first spotted these bright pink rainboots from Chanel in the Nylon issue of September 2008, and saw them again while looking at this Teen Vogue Spring Fashion A-Z of March 2008. Though it was almost a year ago, I still say this is a great collection to anyones wardrobe if they are looking for neon and waterproof.

I always really enjoyed the collections of House of Holland, especially the brightly-colored graphic tees.

Looking for neon watches that feel more like bangles and bracelets? Nixon has a good variety, like The Misty, The Spree, The Tribella (featured above) and The Vega.
